Welcome to Barbados!

About Barbados

Barbados is renowned for its luxury hotels, fine-dining restaurants, and gorgeous beaches. It is a bustling, sophisticated Caribbean island favored by celebrities as well as golfers and families.

Located in the Lesser Antilles, measuring 21 miles long by 14 miles wide, the sophisticated island of Barbados is a coral island, consequently blessed with white sand beaches. Densely-populated island is one of the most developed and most popular islands in the Caribbean.

The sea is generally calm on the West coast but, with Atlantic waves constantly rolling in, much wilder on the rugged East Coast. December to May is the dry season and the best time to visit, but from June to November you’ll find bargain holiday offers.

The island is made up of lowlands and rolling hills, the inland highest point of the island being just 1,115 ft. In the hilly northeast, you’ll find various caves and gullies. And, being in the tropics, expect humidity of 70%-77% year-round.

While in Barbados

A tour to the wild East side of the island is a must – it is so different from the West coast with wild Atlantic waves constantly rolling in. Beaches are great for long walks accompanied by constant tropical breezes, views are stunning.

Visit Barbados’ historic sites – it’s a pleasurable activity on a rainy day – and make sure to schedule a visit to St. Nicholas Abbey, a beautiful Jacobean plantation house at Cherry Tree Hill in St Peter.

The botanical gardens are peaceful and a delight to wander through, especially the small but perfectly formed Hunte’s Gardens in St Joseph’s Parish.

There is also a huge choice of fantastic restaurants in Barbados which range from very casual fish fry evenings at Oistins village, to chic restaurants in stunning settings overlooking the sea on the West Coast of Barbados. Foodwise, you’ll be spoiled for choice in Barbados, you can’t really go wrong. Furthermore, some of the settings are stunning and romantic.
